I wrote this on a previous post and this truly sums it up for me:
Autumn truly is my favourite time of year. I take in all of its splendor from rose coloured glasses. It seems to touch all of the senses - the crispness of the air, the crunch of the leaves, the intensity of the colours. But as an artist, what speaks to me most is the glory of the light.........God's Glory.
So, from an artist's point of view here's what I love about fall:
... the difference in the light
... the vibrant colours
... the crispness of the air
... the crunch of the leaves
... the smell of ripened blackberries
... the intense blueness of the sky
... going to the Pumpkin Patch with my students
... a smoky, autumn bonfire
... having to put on a warm, cozy sweater.
... the dew on the grass in the mornings
... the smell of my favourite pumpkin candle
... my kids loved and worn, handmade Halloween decorations
... pumpkins and hay bales on the porch
... scarecrows with crows perched on them
... dewdrops on spiderwebs
... smoke lingering in the air after a bonfire
... a drive in the country
... biting into a crisp apple
Oh....I could go on and on but I hope I have left you with a little fall splendor.
May a little grace touch your day !
Bre

Bre!!!
You are back!
I was just thinking about you yesterday and wondering what you were up to.
I hope you have had a good summer. I'm sure it has been a busy one with your family and all.
What ever happened to the "lazy, hazy, days of summer?" (Oh, guess i left out the 'crazy' pat, maybe because that is how it really is.) =0)
Have you been painting??
I so love you work.
Glad to see you again.
Keep in touch. OK??
Blessings,
Barbara Jean

Bree, my sweet friend,
I so appreciate and enjoyed your note.
Summer:
No vacations other than a day trip to the coast once in awhile.
Store keeps me very busy, and I'm lovin' it!!
We are going to a resort here in Oregon the end of October. (right before my busiest season, but have to go while when can).
Always out thriftin'.
Buying, cleaning, repurposing, creating, changing displays, meeting new people.
It is such a gift to me from the Lord.
Right now we are cleaning out another room, which was storage, and making it into another display room. Means painting it all, moving big pieces of furniture etc.
Work, but so fun to see visions and dreams evolving.
Next year we will have a big garden display area in the back.
I'm making bird nests and love doing it. And people seem to like them so that always makes a person feel good. =0)
So, between the store, blogging, and playing with my grand kids, and church and friends thrown in there too, I am just as busy as the rest of the world seems to be.
I'm just all around enjoying the good life right now.
Blessings,
and so glad to be in touch again.
