I picked up some 123 bull's eye primer and some deep brown, almost black paint. Since I hate sanding, and the surface was too glossy, I would much rather prime it.
Two coats of paint later and this is what it looked like. Perfect for the computer nook upstairs.

I haven't really accessorized it yet and I'd love to add a glaze to this but this will do for now. I TOTALLY love Sid Dickens tiles but I loved the price of these ones much better- $3.00. And the initials stands for my hubby and three kids who all start with A's. Someone should have told me that after 40 having every family member's names might be slightly confusing - the kid's are totally used to me calling them by the other one's name.



Next time I get any rare, spare time I'll paint the matching bookcases....yup, got them for $17.00 each. Almost more fun than paying full price !
